Our Stories

Starting with Why. Our Why.

While the question might seem simple, it required some time, discussion and reflection to answer. We believe that truth is singular. We believe that true and accurate communication is at the core of integrity. As a team we are dedicated to build something to help people, especially the most vulnerable. Everyone needs and deserves justice. This can only be based on the truth. There should be no room for doubt. ` Yet it seems every day people are able to bully their beliefs and lies by using ‘he said / she said’ as a defence for their wrong doings. We work as a facilitator, not an agitator.

In its simplest terms, people are responsible for their words and actions. They should be. If not words and actions what else can someone be responsible for? Chamath Papataya (Social Capital) spoke of a quest for a business model of the future based on determining value to the truth. This is core to our ‘Why’. While our initial work is focused on the workplace, specifically concerning harassment and bullying, we believe transparency in actions will be a requirement, not an ‘issue’. This vision of the future that does not yet exist, however our efforts will be towards making that vision a reality. Imagine a workplace were all people are paid fairly without harassment, bullying or favouritism. That is our goal. That is our objective. That is our ‘Why?’. We believe our efforts are for a just cause and will be on the right side of history. This we believe is self evident by our own actions. If you feel the same or otherwise, we would love to know and hear from you. We hope you never have to use our website or service, but if you do we will be here.

#001. Camden Council Case study 042

Sometimes a real world example is all that is needed to explain everything. False accusations 'disappear' in the face of evidence. Unsurprisingly the idea for this service was created when the members of the HRBot iWitness team had experienced pain. This example shows a real world case when false accusations had been made against a member of staff at Camden Council in 2016.

The attached iWitness audio was recorded during a meeting with ‘Name Withheld’ (then: ‘Digital Products and Webmanager’), Barry May (then: ‘Customer Service Manager’), Nicolina Cooper (then: ‘Senior Parking Manager’) and Patricia Hillman (then: Camden Council HR officer), all (at the time) of Camden Council on the 19th December 2016. The purpose of the meeting was to verify if Barry May had provided false and misleading information concerning issues raised by ‘Name Withheld’ (then ‘Digital Products and Webmanager’).

This example of HR enforced harassment is not uncommon. When the junior Digital Products and Webmanager had rightfully and correctly accused the senior manager, Barry May of making false accusations and providing misinformation, the ‘presiding judge’, Nicolina Cooper, immediately made false accusations against the junior manager. While the vindictiveness of her intentions can be heard in her voice, they are further compounded with her follow up letters. All information will be available as part of this Case study.

The result? After the repeated threats and accusations made against the junior manager, the ‘charges were dropped’ in the face of evidence a few days later. Following Camden Council HR process and guidance, Nicolina Cooper did not apologise for the error, rather ‘doubled down’ on telling the junior manager to remain quiet about the matter via email. While the idea for HRBot iWitness was years away, the junior manager can be heard saying ‘you know I will need to go legal and public concerning this matter’, right after the additional false accusations had been made.

This is one case from thousands from across the UK. HRBot iWitness has been created to help employees who are dealing with issues of harassment, workplace bullying keep, record all evidence concerning their experience. We provide for free (& will always have a free version) a simple and safe means to keep track of any incidents and provide legal support if necessary. Employers who use the HRBot iWitness Enterprise tool protect not only all the employees against ‘he says / she says’ misinformation but the company itself from the legal wrangling and subsequent cost of poor employee morale due to bullying and the subsequent costs.
